How the Toy Truck Terminal Began

Johnny and Zion had been coming for years to see the All American Toy Co. booth at the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum show in Brooks, Oregon. They so wanted to play with one of the many trucks, but since the toy trucks were for sale, the sign said "Please Don't Touch." The boys obeyed and never touched, but I could see the look in their eyes; they sure wanted to play with one of those beauties. Well, after several of years watching Johnny and Zion's faces, I decided to change the display to a hands-on "Yes, you can play with the trucks" display.

The first year (2006) Johnny, Zion and many other children played with the trucks all day long. The children learned how to use the truck's with air horn steering and play with other boys and girls. All the happy faces of the kids, parents, grandparents and anyone who watched the toy truck terminal showed me this was a worthwhile undertaking. Thanks to Johnny, Zion and new friends for inspiration and encouragement. Hope to see you in 2009.

All ages came to play
Now Johnny, Zion and friends get to play trucks

I would like to say in the 3 years I have been doing this display how well behaved the young people are. They share and carefully play together and are to be commended.
